Permissible safe amounts of 75 kinds of agricultural chemical residues were established in 2002, and the scope of use, amount, and specifications were set for 56 kinds of food additives.

Food sanitation laws and regulations have been translated into English and posted on the DOH website for retrieval at home and abroad, thereby achieving the goal of transparency of administrative measures and fulfilling Taiwan's obligations under the WTO agreement on food safety inspection and quarantine measures for plant and animal products.
